Maternity Benefit

A female secured worker is entitled to receive Maternity Benefit if social security contribution in respect of her was paid or payable for not less than 180 days during the 12 calendar months immediately preceding the expected date of her confinement, as certified by an authorized Medical practitioner of the Institution.

 

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED:

  1. Employers’ certificate of employment, attendance of 180 days during the last 12 months and last wages drawn by the female secured worker on Form B-2.
  2. Certification of non-working during the period on prescribed form B-20 by the employer.
  3. Certification of expected date of confinement by the authorized Medical Officer of the Institution on form B-6 to receive 06 weeks benefit before confinement.
  4. Social Security Registration Card (R-5) / Benazir Mazdoor Card.
  5. Certification of actual date of confinement by the authorized Medical Officer of the Institution on form M-9 to receive 06 weeks benefit after confinement.

 

TIME LIMIT:

The claim should be filed within 15 days of the date of the certificate of expected date of confinement (B-6).

 

ENTITLEMENT:

For all days on which she does not work for remuneration during the period of 12 weeks of her confinement. 06 weeks are payable before the confinement on submission of form B-6 and the remaining 06 weeks are paid after confinement on submission of form M-9.

 

RATE:

100% of the wages last drawn by the female secured worker.
