Survivor's Pension

When a secured person dies as a result of an employment injury, a survivor’s pension shall be payable to each of his dependent as follows;

 

  1. To the widow, widows or needy widower during life at a rate equal to three-fifty of the rate of total disablement pension to which the secured worker was, or would have been entitled, and where there are two or more widows, the pension shall be divided equally between them;
  2. To each dependent child, at a rate equal to one-fifth of the rate of such total disablement pension. However, if the child is full orphan, the rate shall be two-fifth of the rate of the total disablement pension. Further, in case the calculation on the analogy exceeds the limit of total disablement pension, the pension of each of the survivors shall be reduced proportionately.
  3. In case the deceased secured person does not leave a widow or needy widower, a survivors’ pension shall be payable for life to a dependent father, if he be alive, to a dependent mother, if she be alive, at a rate equal to one-fifth of the rate of the total disablement pension.
  4. It shall terminate;   

                  upon the death of the survivor,or

                  upon the re-marriage of the survivor’s widow or

                  upon attaining the age of 21years in case of survivor’s child (the age limit shall not apply in case of dependent un-married daughter).

 

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED

 

Claim from widow, widows with or without children (Form B-20-A):

  • Employers’ report of an accident on Form B-3;
  • Certificate of employment, payment of social security contribution, if any, amount/rate of last wages drawn and last date of work on Form B-2;
  • Social Security Registration Card (R-5) / Benazir Mazdoor Card;
  • Computerized Marriage Certificate / Evidence of marriage;
  • Computerized Death Certificate of Secured Worker;
  • Form-B or NADRA Birth certificate of children of the deceased secured worker;
  • CNICs of the secured worker and widow;
  • Certification regarding non-existence of any other widow or children of the deceased secured worker.
  • Non-remarriage Certificate.

 

Claim from needy widower (Form B-12/B):

  • Employers’ report of an accident on Form B-3;
  • Certificate of employment, payment of social security contribution, if any, amount/rate of last wages drawn and last date of work on Form B-2;
  • Social Security Registration Card (R-5) / Benazir Mazdoor Card;
  • Computerized Marriage Certificate / Evidence of marriage;
  • Computerized Death Certificate of secured worker;
  • Form-B or NADRA Birth certificate of children of the deceased secured worker;
  • CNIC of deceased female secured worker and of her dependent husband;
  • Determination that widower is needy.
  • Non-remarriage Certificate.

 

TIME LIMIT:

The claim should be filed within 15 days of the death of the secured person.

 

ENTITLEMENT

75% of the last wages drawn by the deceased secured worker. Share of each survivor is as under:

 

i)

Widow, Widows or Needy Widower

3/5th of the rate of total disablement pension.

 

ii)

Children

1/5th of total disablement pension payable to each dependent child.

 

iii)

If the child is full orphan

2/5th of the rate of total disablement pension payable to each dependent child.

 

iv)

Dependent parents

1/5th of pension payable.
