Registration of Employers and Employees

The procedure of coverage was commenced with the survey conducted by Local Directorates of all industrial or commercial establishments having 5 or more insurable employees. Requisite particulars reported on a prescribed form under signature of the employer.

 

New Business Registration Process is online now. The link for new business registration is https://business.sindh.gov.pk/. Any new Business/employer can register itself online through Sindh Business Registration Portal under Ease of Doing Business Reforms initiatives with SESSI and other Departments. Once the New Business is registered on the portal after completing required formalities and registration number is issued to the Business/establishment, the same is also registered with SESSI Contribution and Benefits Portal. A login ID and Password is issued to the newly registered establishment and the establishment starts paying Social Security Contribution through online system via link https://ehrmis.sessi.gov.pk/employer_login after getting its employees registered with SESSI through online portal. There is no fee for registration of a new unit with SESSI and the unit is registered on the same day after completing the required formalities. The portal of online payment is established with the collaboration of Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB). This strategic reform smoothly functioning for the last four years.

 

Registration of workers has been started in SESSI through NADRA Smart Cards from January 2022. Special counters at SESSI field offices have been established to capture worker’s biometric and family validation using NADRA Database. Following the registration through NADRA, worker’s registration card namely “Benazir Mazdoor Card” has been issued through which medical as well as cash benefits may be obtained through SESSI dispensaries / hospital / pay offices.
